KC10HD – Safety Spring Door Closer

4-1/4″, Diecast, White

These safety spring-activated door closers are constructed of diecast materials and come in a white painted finish. They are U.L. listed with a 1/2 hour fire rating, and can be used to close doors weighing up to 150 lbs. These closers feature an adjustable closing speed, and they are non-handed, allowing them to be used on both left and right-handed swinging doors. Both the closer and the plastic slide plate are surface-mounted and are easy to install.

  • Used to convert right or left hinged doors to self-closing doors
  • 1 in. wide base, 4-1/4 in. hole center spacing, 4-3/4 in. arm
  • These safety closers feature an adjustable closing speed and they can close doors weighing up to 150 lbs
  • Diecast zinc alloy body construction with a white painted finish
  • All components are surface mounted and work in a pushing-closed manner rather than a pulling-closed method with no hold-open feature

    Became very noisy after a few weeks

    Installation and design are good. Works as advertised. BUT became very noisy after a few weeks (loud torsion spring noise on opening and closing the door). Used on the pantry door so… NOT good for midnight snacking!

    Not the best. You get what you pay for.

    I bought around 6 of these in the past few months for my office. 2 of them have started making a loud noise after about 3 months of use. I guess you get what you pay for this price.

    It’s good but not strong enough and noisy

    It’s very easy to install but unfortunately it’s not able to fully close a light door but that’s okay comparing to the noise it makes. It’s a quite loud noise of a spring compressing/rotating. I’ve tried adding wd40 and it helps a bit but still quite noise

    Decent little unit. Fairly easy to install. May need a bigger screw underneath unit to keep it from pulling on door trim.

    convenience and safety

    Easy to install. Works great keeping the door to our basement closed ( which nobody did when using stairs ) It is a safety factor for our year old granddaughter. It is on a interior hollow door so cant comment on a heavy door install.

    Very happy but needs to be greased.

    Very happy. It’s easy to install. Spring was noisy at first. After opening it (very easy) and white greasing the spring it made no more noise.
